About Me

In 2007 I began with photography. My preference is macro photography, finding extremely small insects (only a few millimeter) and photographing them in such a way that they are enlarged to a picture filling result. I like the eyes of insects in particular, they come in all colours and sizes with many different patterns. Beside macro photography, I also like taking photo's of birds and other animals as well as landscapes.

My first camera was a Panasonic FZ30. After that I switched to an Olympus E-620, followed by an Olympus E-M1 and I currently use the newer Olympus E-M1 mark II. The equipment I use is the following:

  • Olympus E-M1 + grip
  • Olympus E-M1 mark II + grip
  • Olympus 8mm fisheye (FT)
  • Olympus 14-54mm II (FT)
  • Olympus 50mm macro (FT)
  • Olympus 60mm macro
  • Olympus 150mm f2 (FT)
  • Olympus 300mm f4 PRO (MFT)
  • Olympus 2x converter (FT)
  • Olympus 1.4x converter (MFT)
  • Olympus MMF3 adapter for FT lenses
  • Olympus STF-22 twin light flash
  • Olympus FL36 flash
  • Olympus LMPLFLN 10x (microscope objective)
  • Raynox DCR-250 microscopic lens
  • Raynox MSN-202 microscopic lens

From 2008 up until 2019 I worked as salesman in photography shops, for the largest part at CameraNU.nl (Urk, The Netherlands). Here I gained a lot of knowledge in photography. Since April 2020, I can call myself an engineer after successfully completing the master's program in Computer Science and Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). Nowadays I work as software developer at my own company (Theta 1 Software).

Besides this website, I also have a special website for microscopic photography: https://www.microscopischefotografie.nl
